Data Analytics Division

  • Performs the necessary data analysis for the execution of Agency functions. Ensures or provides support in the creation and automation of data analysis and reports, data visualization, and publication preparation, as well as participates in data management processes;
  • Plans, organizes, and implements data collection, processing, and analysis on the effective and safe use of medicines in the pre-authorisation and post-authorisation period. Also conducts an analysis of the regulatory decision impact on the use and availability of medicines;
  • Ensures the monitoring of medicine availability, analyzes data on the sales and stocks of pharmaceutical wholesalers, and prepares reports on medicine consumption in Latvia;
  • Through a comprehensive analysis of medicines covered by financial agreements between the National Health Service and either the Marketing Authorization Holder or pharmaceutical wholesalers, compiles a list of medicines subject to export restrictions. Utilizing a thorough analysis of data on medicine availability, the division makes informed decisions regarding the issuance of permits for medicine distribution to European Union member states or export to third countries;
  • Gathers and analyzes data on pharmaceutical wholesalers, manufacturing companies, and pharmacy turnover, as well as data on the volume of distributed medicines and the prices of medicine sales;
  • Gathers information on the declared prices of medicines from manufacturers, parallel importers, and parallel distributors, performs analysis on the collected data and ensures its maintenance in the information system.
