- Evaluates the applications and the related documentation of clinical trials projects received from local and foreign sponsors, as well as issues authorisations for the initiation of clinical trials in Latvia;
- Supervises and controls the clinical trials carried out in Latvia, as well as evaluates the compliance of clinical trials with the requirements of good clinical practice;
- Evaluates the applications for non-interventional studies and ensures their registration.
