The market value of products made by local manufacturers in 2013 - almost 150 million euros

During the previous year medicinal product manufacturers in Latvia have manufactured products (medicines and other goods) worth 104 million lats (149 mil. euros), which is 3% less than in 2012. The majority (90.4%) of the manufactured products were exported to other countries, but 9.6% were distributed in the local market.

In 2013 the total amount of exported products (medicines and other goods) has decreased by 3% with the worth of 94.5 million lats (134 mil. euros), majority of which was distributed in third countries.

The overall amount of products (medicines and other goods) produced and marketed in Latvia has not changed significantly in comparison to 2012 - in 2013 it had the worth of 10 million lats (14 mil. euros).

In comparison with 2012 the amount of medicinal products and substances marketed in the local market in Latvia has decreased by 1% - it was worth 8.4 million lats (12 mil. euros) in 2013.

The summary of the information regarding total turnover in 2013 in Latvia and outside of Latvia shows that JSC “Grindeks” is a clear leader among manufacturers in Latvia producing a turnover of 54 million lats (77 mil. euros) with JSC “Olainfarm” coming in second place.
