The State Agency of Medicines (SAM) announces that on June 12, 2026, amendments to Cabinet Regulation No. 803 “Regulations Regarding the Principles for the Determination of the Price of Medicinal Products” will take effect regarding the procedure for declaring medicinal product prices.
In accordance with these amendments, several changes will take effect.
- Marketing authorisation holders and their authorised representatives will be required to update information on the declared price of medicinal products only once a year, i.e., by 1 January for prices that will take effect on 1 January, thereby reducing the administrative burden. Previously, information had to be submitted twice a year on the first day of each half-year (on 1 January and 1 July).
- The deadlines have been specified in terms of workdays instead of calendar days, as follows:
- 5 workdays instead of 7 days;
- 10 workdays instead of 15 days;
- The text in parentheses is deleted to resolve the contradiction between the specified 5 workday deadline and the requirement to notify no later than the date of notification, which complicates the understanding and application of the aforementioned provision.
IMPORTANT! In light of the above, information on prices for second half-year (July 1, 2026) that have not changed does not need to be submitted to the SAM.
